How To Make Turkish Lamb Pilau

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, cubed
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Turkish spice blend
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups chicken or lamb broth
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter and sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.

  2. Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

  3. Stir in the Turkish spice blend and cinnamon stick, and cook for another minute.

  4. Add the basmati rice and coat it in the spices and lamb mixture.

  5. Pour in the chicken or lamb broth and season with salt and pepper.

  6. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 40-45 minutes until the rice and lamb are fully cooked and tender.

  7. Remove the pot from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before fluffing the rice with a fork.

  8. Serve the Turkish Lamb Pilau hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
