  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori seaweed
  • 1/2 pound fresh salmon, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Soy sauce, for dipping
  • Wasabi, for serving
  • Pickled ginger, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool.

  2. Lay a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface.

  3. Place a sheet of nori seaweed on the bamboo mat.

  4. Wet your hands with water to prevent the rice from sticking and take a handful of sushi rice.

  5. Spread the rice evenly on the nori seaweed, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.

  6. Arrange slices of salmon, cucumber, and avocado in the center of the rice.

  7. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, applying gentle pressure.

  8. Wet a sharp knife and slice the sushi roll into bite-sized pieces.

  9. Repeat steps 3-8 for the remaining ingredients.

  10. Serve the salmon sushi rolls with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
