How To Make Slow-cooked harissa lamb

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lamb shoulder, bone-in
  • 2 tbsp harissa paste
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine the harissa paste, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.

  2. Place the lamb shoulder on top and spoon some of the harissa mixture over it.

  3. Cook on low for 6 hours or until the lamb is tender and easily falls off the bone.

  4. Remove the lamb from the slow cooker and shred the meat using two forks.

  5. Skim any fat off the cooking liquid in the slow cooker and pour it over the shredded lamb.

  6. Serve the slow-cooked harissa lamb with couscous or flatbread and garnish with fresh cilantro.
