How To Make Star Anise and Cinnamon Spiced Oatmeal Recipe

Warm and comforting oatmeal infused with fragrant star anise and cinnamon spices.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of rolled oats
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
  • Milk or cream to serve

Instructions

  1. In a medium sized pot, bring the water to a boil.

  2. Add the oats, star anise, cinnamon stick, and salt. Stir well.

  3. Reduce heat to medium and let the oats cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Remove the star anise and cinnamon stick from the pot.

  5. Stir in the maple syrup and chopped nuts (if using).

  6. Divide the oatmeal into bowls and top with a splash of milk or cream. Enjoy!
