Ingredients

  • 6 plums, pitted and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine plums, brown sugar, rice wine vinegar, cinnamon stick, star anise, grated ginger, and salt.

  2. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove cinnamon stick and star anise from the sauce.

  4. Use a blender or immersion blender to puree the sauce until smooth.

  5. Serve as a dipping sauce or glaze on your favorite meat. Enjoy!
