How To Make Mace and Pear Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 large pear, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp of ground mace
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and transfer it onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. Using a sharp knife, score a border around the pastry about 1 inch from the edge.

  4. Arrange the pear slices on the pastry inside the border.

  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and mace together and sprinkle it over the pears.

  6. Brush the beaten egg over the border of the pastry.

  7. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender.

  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
