How To Make Mace and Lemon Curd

A creamy and tangy dessert with a hint of mace spice.

Ingredients

  • 2 lemons, juiced and zested
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/4 tsp mace spice

Instructions

  1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together lemon juice, zest, sugar, and eggs.

  2. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water.

  3. Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and whisk in the cubed butter until melted and smooth.

  5. Stir in the mace spice.

  6. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
