  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp rose water
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • Edible rose petals (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and rose water.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.

  5. If desired, add a few drops of pink food coloring to achieve a rose color.

  6. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter.

  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

  8. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
