A delicious dessert made with tart rhubarb and sweet apples, topped with a crunchy crumble topping.

Ingredients

  • 3 stalks of rhubarb, chopped
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, toss together the rhubarb, apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Transfer to a baking dish.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, and brown sugar. Add the chilled butter and rub it into the mixture using your fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the fruit in the baking dish.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the fruit is tender and the topping is golden brown.

  6. Serve warm, with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
