How To Make Redcurrant Sorbet

If frozen desserts are your thing, then our sweet sorbet recipes is just what you’re looking for. Not only are they a nice fruity treat, they’re also refreshing — especially on hot summer days! Beat the heat with a sweet sorbet!

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 0 minutes
Total: 3 hours 10 minutes

  • 400g redcurrants
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 250ml water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  1. Rinse the redcurrants and remove any stems.

  2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved, stirring occasionally.

  3. Add the redcurrants and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the redcurrants are soft.

  4. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

  5. Using a blender or food processor, blend the mixture until smooth.

  6. Stir in the lemon juice.

  7. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually around 25-30 minutes.

  8. Transfer the sorbet to a lidded container and freeze for at least 3 hours to fully set.

  9. Serve the redcurrant sorbet in scoops and enjoy!
