How To Make Sugar-Free Apple Pie

Using just five ingredients, you can create this stunning and simple autumn dessert that's flavorful even without the added sugar.

  • 2 tsp tapioca or cornstarch flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg, ground
  • ½ cup apple juice cider
  • 4 cup green apples, sliced
  • 20 oz pie crust dough, prepared
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • all-purpose flour, for dusting


  1. Preheat your oven to 325F and grease a 9-inch pie tin.

  2. Assemble the filling by combining the tapioca or cornstarch flour, cinnamon or nutmeg, apple juice cider, and green apples together. Mix until evenly incorporated and then set aside.

  3. Dust both your rolling pin and working area with flour, and roll out 1 disc of dough until you achieve roughly ½-inch thickness.

  4. Transfer the dough onto your pie tin and ensure to leave excess dough hanging on the sides of the pie tin.

  5. Pour your filling onto your pie tin. Set aside.

  6. Repeat steps 3 with your remaining disc of dough, but this time to cover the pie.

  7. Seal edges and make a few slits in top.

  8. Prepare your egg wash. Beat together egg yolk & milk. Brush this around & on top of your pie.

  9. Transfer to the oven and bake for roughly 40 minutes. Then, increase your oven temperature to 400F. Broil the crush until golden, roughly around 10 minutes

  10. Once baked, transfer the pie onto cooling racks & allow to cool completely

  11. Portion accordingly & serve
