How To Make Microwave Chocolate Mug Cake

This moist and delicious chocolate cake can be made in just a few minutes in the microwave, perfect for a quick and indulgent treat.

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 pieces of small chocolate (optional)


  1. In a large microwaveable mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Add in the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.

  3. If you want to add chocolate pieces, push them into the center of the batter.

  4. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, or until the cake has risen and is set.

  5. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
