How To Make Air Fryer Butter Chicken Recipe

A flavorful and easy Indian-inspired dish made with juicy chicken, aromatic spices, and creamy butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp grated ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Cilantro leaves, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the yogurt, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, paprika, salt, and pepper together.

  2. Add the chicken pieces and toss until well coated. Let it sit for 10 minutes or up to an hour in the fridge.

  3. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.

  4. Place the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy on the outside.

  5. In a separate skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and cook until it turns golden brown.

  6. Add the tomato puree to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  7. Add the heavy cream and cook for another minute.

  8. Add the crispy chicken to the skillet and toss to coat.

  9. Garnish with cilantro leaves (optional) and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
