Nigella’s Tiramisu Recipe

How To Make Nigella’s Tiramisu

A classic Italian dessert made with layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 150g mascarpone cheese
  • 125ml double cream
  • 100ml strong espresso, cooled
  • 1 tbsp amaretto liqueur
  • 8-10 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. Add the mascarpone cheese and whisk until smooth and well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, whip the double cream to soft peaks.

  4. Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated.

  5. In a shallow dish, mix together the cooled espresso and amaretto liqueur.

  6. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange in a single layer at the bottom of 4 serving dishes.

  7. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  8. Dip the remaining ladyfingers in the coffee mixture and arrange in a single layer on top of the mascarpone mixture.

  9. Spoon the remaining mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  10. Cover and chill the tiramisu for at least 2 hours, or overnight.

  11. To serve, dust with cocoa powder.
