How To Make Nigella’s Panna Cotta Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp powdered gelatin
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. Meanwhile, place the gelatin in a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for a few minutes until the gelatin softens.

  3. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and add the softened gelatin, whisk until fully dissolved.

  4. Add the vanilla bean and seeds to the mixture and let it steep for about 10 minutes.

  5. Strain the mixture into 4 ramekins or glasses. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  6. Serve chilled with fresh berries or fruit of your choice.
