How To Make Giordano’s Deep Dish Pizza Recipe
Giordano’s famous deep dish pizza recipe with a buttery crust, lots of cheese, and savory tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- For the crust:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- For the filling:
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 lb sweet Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups canned crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425°F.

To make the crust, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and cornmeal in a large mixing bowl.

Add the melted butter, vegetable oil, and water, and mix until a dough forms.

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes.

Grease a 9-inch deep dish pie pan with olive oil.

Press the dough into the pan, making sure it covers the bottom and sides.

Add half of the shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese to the bottom of the crust.

Add onion, green pepper, mushrooms, and cooked sausage on top of the cheese.

Add the remaining cheese.

In a medium bowl, mix together crushed tomatoes, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the cheese.

Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the pizza is fully cooked.

Let the pizza cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
