  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9 inch cake pan.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving.
