Ingredients

  • 1 lb. fresh sea scallops
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. sake
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean the scallops, remove the side muscle, and pat them dry.

  2. Heat a large skillet or hibachi grill over medium-high heat.

  3. Add the olive oil and minced garlic, cook for 30 seconds.

  4. Add the scallops in a single layer and season them with salt and pepper.

  5. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.

  6. Add the soy sauce, sake, and butter to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.

  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions over the scallops, and serve immediately.
