How To Make Staffordshire Oatcakes Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup of oats
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp of melted butter
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix together the oats, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.

Pour a ladleful of the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden brown.

Flip the oatcake and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.

Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed.

Serve the oatcakes warm with your favorite toppings such as cheese, bacon, or eggs.
