Ingredients
- 500g beef steak, thinly sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 cup of red wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Add the sliced onions and minced garlic, and sauté until they become translucent and fragrant.

Increase the heat to high and add the beef steak slices. Brown the meat on both sides.

Pour in the red wine and add the bay leaves and paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender.

Serve the Portuguese braised steak and onions hot with mashed potatoes or crusty bread.
