Total: 25 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup of provolone cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or stovetop griddle to medium heat.

  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced peppers and onions and cook until they are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. While the peppers and onions are cooking, grill the hot dogs until heated through and slightly charred, about 5 minutes.

  4. To assemble the cheesesteak hot dogs, place each hot dog in a bun. Top with a generous amount of the sautéed peppers and onions, then sprinkle with shredded provolone cheese.

  5. Place the hot dogs back on the grill or griddle and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
