  • hot dogs,1 package
  • 1cupflour
  • 1cupcornmeal
  • ¼tspsalt
  • ¼cupsugar
  • 1tbspbaking powder
  • 1egg
  • 1cupmilk
  • 4cupsvegetable oil,for frying


  • 16 wooden skewers


  1. Combine the cornmeal, flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl.

  2. Stir in the eggs and milk just until mixed.

  3. Transfer the mixture to tall glass or mason jar.

  4. Preheat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat.

  5. Cut the hot dogs in half, then insert them into skewers.

  6. Dip each hot dog in the batter until well coated; rotating to allow excess to drip off.

  7. Fry the corn dogs one or two at a time until lightly browned. Drain on paper towels.

  8. Serve, and enjoy!
