How To Make Crispy Roast Duck

Ingredients
- 1 whole duck (about 4-5 pounds)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Rinse the duck under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, and five-spice powder. Rub the mixture all over the duck, including the cavity.

Place the duck on a wire rack set inside a roasting pan, breast side up.

Roast the duck in the preheated oven for 1 hour, then increase the temperature to 425°F (220°C).

In a small saucepan, heat the honey, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and vegetable oil over medium heat until well combined.

After the duck has roasted for 1 hour, brush the honey mixture all over the duck, making sure to coat it evenly.

Continue roasting the duck for another 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.

Remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
