Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 whole duck (about 4-5 lbs)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 medium head cauliflower, chopped into florets
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, Chinese five spice powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan. Brush the honey mixture all over the duck, making sure to coat it thoroughly.
-
Roast the duck for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden and crispy.
-
While the duck is roasting, steam the cauliflower until tender. Drain and transfer to a food processor or blender.
-
In a saucepan, heat the chicken broth and cream over medium heat. Add the cauliflower and butter to the blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
-
Once the duck is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
-
Serve the honey-roasted duck with the creamed cauliflower. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
-
Enjoy!
