How To Make Homemade Cereal

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup nuts (such as almonds or walnuts), chopped
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup dried fruits (such as raisins or cranberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats and chopped nuts.

  3. In a small saucepan, heat the honey or maple syrup, coconut oil, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt over low heat until melted and well combined.

  4. Pour the honey mixture over the oats and nuts, and stir until everything is well coated.

  5. Spread the mixture evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crisp.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely on the baking sheet.

  8. Once cooled, stir in the dried fruits.

  9. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
