  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups cubed bread
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until brown and crumbly.

  3. Add the diced apples to the skillet and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, sage, salt, and pepper.

  5. Stir in the cubed bread, sausage, and apples until everything is evenly coated in the egg mixture.

  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.

  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.

  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
