Ingredients

  • 1 lb new potatoes
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the new potatoes and cut them into bite-sized pieces.

  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the potatoes. Cook for about 10 minutes or until tender.

  3. In a separate pot, cook the frozen peas according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux, cooking for 1 minute.

  5. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Add the cooked potatoes and peas to the saucepan and stir until well coated. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.

  7. Serve the creamed peas and new potatoes hot as a delightful side dish.
