How To Make Creamy Clam Chowder Recipe
A delicious and comforting soup with tender clams in creamy broth.

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 4 cups chopped potatoes
- 2 cups chopped clams (fresh or canned)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and celery, and cook until tender.

Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Gradually whisk in chicken broth. Add potatoes, clams, bay leaf, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until potatoes are tender, about 20 minutes.

Remove bay leaf from the soup. Puree half of the soup in a blender or with an immersion blender until smooth. Return to the pot.

Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat for 5 minutes or until heated through.

Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
