How To Make Clam and Bell Pepper Chowder Recipe

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (10 oz each) of chopped clams
  • 3 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Drain clams, reserve juice, and set aside.

  2. In a pot, cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.

  3. In the same pot, sauté onion, garlic, and bell peppers until tender.

  4. Add potatoes, reserved clam juice, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

  5. Add clams and cream. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes or until heated through.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Serve hot, topped with crispy bacon.
