How To Make Funeral Sandwiches

With a sweet and tangy crust, these baked funeral sandwiches have layers of ham, sweet cheese, and yellow mustard topped with soft Hawaiian bread rolls.

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1lbham,thinly sliced
  • ½lbswiss cheese,sliced
  • 12Hawaiian bread rolls,(2 packages) such as King’s®
  • 1cupbutter,melted
  • 4tbspbrown sugar
  • 2tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • 2tbspyellow mustard,prepared
  • 2tbsppoppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray. Place ham and Swiss cheese slices on the bottom of the rolls and cover with roll tops.

  2. Mix butter, brown sugar, Worcestershire, mustard, and poppy seeds together in a small bowl and spoon over sandwich tops. Let sit for 4 hours to overnight.

  3. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
