How To Make Cheese Manicotti
Switch up your usual dinner recipes and enjoy a tasty pasta dish in this cheese manicotti that's made of marinara sauce and 3 kinds of cheese.
Ingredients
- 15 oz ricotta cheese, (1 carton) reduced-fat
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, minced, plus more for optional garnish
- ½ tsp pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided, part-skim
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated, divided
- 4 cups marinara sauce, such as Bertolli D’Italia
- ½ cup water
- 8 oz manicotti shells, (1 package)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a small bowl, mix the first 6 ingredients; stir in ½ cup of mozzarella cheese and ½ cup of Parmesan cheese.

In another bowl, mix marinara sauce and water; spread ¾ cup of sauce onto the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Fill uncooked manicotti shells with ricotta mixture; arrange over sauce. Top with remaining sauce.

Bake, covered, for 50 minutes or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Bake, uncovered, for 10 to 15 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. If desired, top with additional parsley.
