How To Make Iced Fairy Cakes
Sweet and moist cupcakes topped with delicious icing, perfect for a fancy treat.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- for the icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- food coloring (optional)
- sprinkles (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin pan with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and let the cupcakes cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Add food coloring if desired.

Dip the tops of the cooled cupcakes into the icing or spread it over the cupcakes using a knife.

Decorate with sprinkles if desired.

Let the icing set before serving.
