How To Make Apricot Jam

A sweet and tangy jam made from fresh apricots.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 kg fresh apricots, pitted and chopped
  • 500 g sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the apricots and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve.

  2. Place the saucepan on medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.

  3. Add the lemon juice and continue cooking for 30-40 minutes, until the jam thickens and reaches a jam-like consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  4. Once the jam is ready, remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

  5. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and let it cool completely before sealing.

  6. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year.
