How To Make Ham and Potato Soup Recipe

A creamy, comfort soup with tender potatoes and chunks of ham.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of cubed potatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of diced ham
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, sauté onion and garlic in oil until translucent.

  2. Add cubed potatoes and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer and cook until potatoes are tender.

  3. Add diced ham and simmer for 3-5 minutes.

  4. Puree half the soup using an immersion blender or transfer half to a blender and pulse until smooth.

  5. Add pureed soup back to the pot, then add heavy cream. Stir until combined.

  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
