How To Make Ham and Cheddar Biscuits Recipe

Delicious Ham and Cheddar Biscuits made from scratch, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ham, diced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Add cold butter, and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to mix until it resembles coarse meal.

  4. Stir in buttermilk until dough comes together.

  5. Fold in cheddar cheese and ham.

  6. Transfer dough onto a floured surface, pat it into a rectangle, and then fold it like a letter.

  7. Rotate dough 90 degrees, and fold again like a letter.

  8. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet.

  9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown, and then remove from the oven.

  10. Serve hot with butter or your favorite condiment.
