Ingredients

  • 4 plums, halved and pitted
  • 4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 star anise pods
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a baking dish, arrange the plum halves cut-side up.

  3. Drizzle the maple syrup over the plums and sprinkle with star anise pods.

  4. Drizzle the melted butter and vanilla extract over the plums.

  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the plums are soft and juicy.

  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

  7. Serve the roasted plums warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
