Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease 4 individual ramekins or oven-safe dishes.
-
In a saucepan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, and ground ginger. Cook until the apples are tender and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
-
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and caramel sauce. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
-
Divide the caramelized apples among the prepared ramekins. Pour the batter evenly over the apples.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puddings are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, if desired.
