This lite apple pie recipe uses a sugar substitute and lemon-lime diet soda to reduce the amount of sugar while still tasting sweet. Try it for yourself!

  • 2 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 can lemon-lime diet soda, or Fresca
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatine
  • 2 envelopes sugar substitute
  • 1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
  • 1 dash cinnamon


  1. Slice apples in a baking dish.

  2. Combine soft drink, gelatine and 1 envelope of sugar substitute in a medium-sized pan.

  3. Bring to a boil and pour the mix over apples. Sprinkle dry milk, cinnamon and the remaining sugar substitute on top.

  4. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour. Let cool. Place in the refrigerator to allow the gelatin to congeal before serving.
