How To Make Orange Sherbet
To make this refreshing orange sherbet, orange and lemon juices are churned with whipped cream and gelatin, for a citrusy cold treat!
Serves:
Ingredients
- ¼cupcold water
- 1tspunflavored gelatin
- ¾cupboiling water
- ¾cupsugar
- 2¼tbsporange zest,grated
- ½cuporange juice
- ¼cuplemon juice
- 1egg yolk,beaten
- ½cupheavy cream
- 3tbspsugar
- 1pinchsalt
- 1egg white
Instructions

Place the cold water in a small bowl and sprinkle gelatin over the surface. Allow to stand for 5 minutes.

In a medium bowl, stir together the boiling water, ¾ cup of sugar and soaked gelatin. Stir until the gelatin and sugar are dissolved.

Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice and egg yolk. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whip the cream with 3 tablespoons of sugar and salt until stiff peaks form.

In a separate bowl, whip the egg white until stiff. Fold into the whipped cream. Stir in juice mixture a little at a time.

Pour into a shallow dish and place in freezer. Freeze until firm, stirring twice during the first hour.

Serve frozen, and enjoy!
