How To Make Chocolate Easter Cupcakes

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- for the frosting:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Easter-themed decorations (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the hot water and chocolate chips.

Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
