How To Make Dishpan Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 cup of softened butter
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 2 cups of chocolate chips
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture.

Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).

Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
