How To Make Chocolate Cherry Cake

You get two flavors in one single cake. A taste of chocolate and sweet cherries in every bite from this chocolate cherry cake.

  • 1 pkg fudge cake mix
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 21 oz cherry pie filling
  • 2 eggs (beaten)

Frosting:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (or 1 pkg)
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 pan.

  3. Combine first 4 ingredients by hand, and stir until well mixed.
  4. Pour into the pan.
  5. Bake 25-30 minutes.

For the frosting:

  1. Combine sugar, butter and milk in a small saucepan.

  2. Boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until smooth.
  4. Pour over cake.
  5. Cool and cut into serving pieces.
