How To Make Israeli Date Cookies Recipe
A traditional Middle Eastern treat, these cookies are filled with dates and topped with sesame seeds.

Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup chopped pitted dates
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl, whisk together oil, honey, and egg.

Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until well combined.

Fold in chopped dates.

Take tablespoon-sized portions of dough and shape into slightly flattened balls. Roll each ball in sesame seeds to coat.

Place balls on prepared baking sheet, leaving a few inches of space between each cookie.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are golden brown.

Allow to cool on baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire rack to cool completely.
