Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp Szechwan peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, cornstarch, and red chili flakes. Set aside.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add garlic, ginger, and Szechwan peppercorns. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, pour in the sauce mixture and simmer until thickened, about 2 minutes. Season with salt to taste.

  5. Return cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the Szechwan sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
