  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked.

  2. Add in diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic, sauté until vegetables are tender.

  3. Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, and pinto beans.

  4. Stir in chili powder, salt, black pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar.

  5. Bring chili to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy with toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, and diced onions.
