  • 1 lb. breakfast sausage
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 biscuits, store-bought or homemade
  • 4 eggs, cooked to preference


  1. In a large skillet, cook breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned, breaking up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.

  2. Add butter to the skillet and let it melt into the sausage.

  3. Once the butter is melted, sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir constantly until the flour has cooked in and the mixture is lightly browned.

  4. Gradually stir in milk, making sure to fully incorporate while stirring. Bring to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, stirring frequently.

  5. Season the gravy with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Warm the biscuits in the oven or microwave.

  7. Serve biscuits with sausage gravy and cooked eggs on the side.
