How To Make Chili Cheese Tater Tots

Nibble on gooey and crispy pieces of potatoes with this tater tots recipe! It’s loaded with ground beef and hearty spices for the perfect game day treat.

Ingredients

  • 1lbground beef
  • ½tspcayenne pepper
  • 1tspcumin
  • 1tsponion powder
  • 1tspgarlic powder
  • 1tsppepper
  • salt,to taste
  • cupketchup
  • 4cupspotato,grated
  • 2tbspflour
  • 8ozcheddar cheese cube
  • oil,for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break up into smaller bits using a spoon or spatula.

  2. Add the cayenne, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, pepper, and salt, then mix until evenly incorporated.

  3. Add ketchup. Mix thoroughly allowing the beef to cook all the way through. Remove the pan from heat, and drain excess fat.

  4. Add the grated potatoes to a bowl, and add in the flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir to combine.

  5. Using the palm of a hand, spread 1 tablespoon of the potatoes into a thin pancake. Add 1 teaspoon of the beef, then press a cheese cube into the middle.

  6. Fold potato over beef and cheese, then create a fist around the tot while using the opposite hand to flatten both sides, creating the cylindrical tot form.

  7. Heat vegetable oil over high heat until the temperature reaches 360 degrees F.

  8. Fry the tots in batches for about 5 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer fried tots to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
