Total: 10 minutes (plus chilling time)

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bologna
  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of pickling spice
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, sugar, pickling spice, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. Meanwhile, make slits around the edges of each bologna slice to prevent curling during pickling.

  3. Place the bologna slices in a glass jar or container. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the bologna, making sure it is completely covered.

  4. Allow the pickled bologna to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to develop.

  5. Serve the pickled bologna cold as a snack or use it in sandwiches.
