How To Make Maple-Smoked Duck Breasts

Ingredients

  • 4 duck breasts
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or smoker to 250°F (120°C).

  2. Pat the duck breasts dry with paper towels and score the skin in a crosshatch pattern.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  4. Brush the maple mixture over the duck breasts, making sure to coat both sides.

  5. Place the duck breasts on the grill or smoker, skin side up. Close the lid and cook for 15 minutes.

  6. Flip the duck breasts and continue cooking for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.

  7. Remove the duck breasts from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  8. Serve the sliced maple-smoked duck breasts and enjoy!
