How To Make Lacquered Duck with Grilled Figs

Ingredients

  • 4 duck breasts
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 8 fresh figs, halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

  3. Score the skin of the duck breasts in a criss-cross pattern and brush with the sauce mixture.

  4. Place the duck breasts on the grill, skin side down, and cook for 6-8 minutes until crispy. Flip and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes.

  5. While the duck is cooking, place the fig halves on the grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they are soft and slightly caramelized.

  6. Remove the duck breasts and figs from the grill and let them rest for 5 minutes.

  7. Slice the duck breasts and serve with the grilled figs.
